A Message for Parents

Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not failure. These services exist to help families stay safe and supported. If you are worried about your child, your family, or something feels unsafe, you are not alone. These services are here to support you and your child.


If someone is in immediate danger
•Call 999 (Police / Ambulance / Fire).

24/7 national support
•NHS urgent mental health
Call 111 and choose the mental health option (24/7).
•Childline (under 19s)
For any worry, big or small – phone and online chat.Call 0800 1111.
•Samaritans (any age)
For anyone feeling very low or suicidal.Call 116 123.
•SHOUT text service- Free, confidential text support in a crisis.
Text SHOUT to 85258 (in Sussex you can also text SUSSEX to 85258).
•PAPYRUS – HOPELINE247
For children, teens and young adults up to 35 with suicidal thoughts, or anyone worried about them.Call 0800 068 4141, text 88247.
•NSPCC Helpline (for adults worried about a child)Advice if you’re concerned a child is being harmed. Call 0808 800 5000.

•Family Action – FamilyLine (England)- Emotional support, guidance and information about family life, relationships, behaviour and money worries.
